Dude, that's his thing. I'm not sure he's even a 'feminist' really (not in the way you seem to mean). I don't think this is really a political thing, it's a fantasy thing.
If you want to talk about gender politics, this isn't really the place to do it.
I'd agree with you that in the western world a degree of equality is being approached (though a woman can still expect to be paid less for doing the same work, and they are vastly under-represented in politics and management positions. But on the other hand they can expect to live longer and no-one is asking "why do men die early?", so sexism does cut both ways).
Across most of the planet though, the situation of women is appalling. Do you know that there are millions of 'missing' women in asia, because girls a killed at birth by families who want sons? Do you know what the state of women is in most of Africa and the Arab world? There are places where they are not allowed to drive or own property. There are groups (notably the Taliban) who burn down schools that teach girls.
So when you say 'you're not as oppressed as you think', you can only be talking about a small number of lucky women living in the west.
